We're proud to announce our MAJOR AWARD from the Michigan Arts and Cultural Council (MACC) Mission Support Program this year!

Facility Improvement & Equipment Purchase: $14,200
Over the past decade, we have transformed our home at The Yellow Barn in downtown Ann Arbor from an empty room into a vibrant theatrical space, adding an ADA accessible ramp, lighting and sound systems, internal walls, risers for seats, a box office counter, and comfortable theatre seating. To continue providing exceptional performances and a welcoming environment, we request funds for the following upgrades:
• New washing machine & sewing machine
• New Box office Computer and Phone.
• New Theatre Lights, Short-throw Projector and Light Board
• New Essential Tools

Professional/Organizational Development: $900
Theatre NOVA is a Member of the National New Play Network (NNPN,) an alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays. In spring 2025 we will send one of our Artistic Directors to attend the Showcase in Minneapolis, MN.

Arts in Education: $5,000
This funding request aims to support our arts education programming, which we offer in partnership with the Ann Arbor Public Schools’ department of Recreation and Education. Theatre NOVA has partnered with “Rec & Ed” since its inception in 2016. Together, we provide high-quality theatre education for elementary and middle school students through two key initiatives: Playmakers Summer Camp and Build-a-Play after school classes. These programs introduce children to the world of theatre, providing them with an enriching and educational experience that fosters both artistic and personal growth.

Total Award: $37,600 (woo-hoo!)

Now we must meet our matching requirement.

Matching Funds Required: $9,400

Can you pitch in by December 20th to help us meet our match?

Theatre NOVA is a 501 c3 public charity, and your gift is fully tax-deductible.
